As long as I can remember, I have always wanted to make things, mostly with wood.  I took my first woodworking class in grade school where I made a pine coffee table.  From that point on, I was hooked.  In high school, I gravitated toward classes where I could make things, like working with plastics, sewing.  I even took 4 years of drafting classes, beginning with machine drafting of parts and screws, then to architectural drafting, drawing floor plans and houses.

Throughout the years, I developed a love for old things (antiques) a deeper appreciation of wood.  I loved the grain patterns in the wood (I still do), the design, and craftsmanship involved in making of the pieces.  I always would say to myself, “hey, I can make that!”  And now, I get to do just that.  So, I am looking to obtain employment I what I love to do, working with wood.  Can I say that I always wanted to do this, i.e. make things with wood?  Yes, but I’ve not always had the opportunity.  I was giving an opportunity by GOD to go back to school to explore and realize this dream.  School was not just a place to learn how to make things with wood, but also to learn all about wood, period.

Woodworking is my passion.  I love moving forward with new and exciting innovations, utilizing the latest techniques and technology.

Let me give you a sense of who I am, where I have been, and what I can do.  That you might consider me as a viable resource for employment.  With the help of my LORD and Savior JESUS CHRIST, who after all is the Creator of wood, and in whom I owe all to, including this opportunity.  I will work hard to do a great job for you.

Knowledge of natural, & engineered wood products, laminates, and experienced in the construction/fabrication, milling, surfacing, joinery, and finishing of same.  I love to work with color, and wood is the perfect canvas for color.  There are types of woods that showcase their natural color, i.e. they grow that way.  And there are also species of woods that are perfect to add color to.  Oak is one such species.  Oak has a great grain pattern that allows for coloring and depth.

I also like wood in its natural state, what’s not to like about wood?  Natural wood takes all types of finish very well.  I am always amazed by what comes out of a piece after it has been finished.  I always look forward to the first coat of oil finish that brings out the grain, color, depth, and pattern in the piece.  It’s very exciting!  I Have developed a keen eye to analyze the potential of an outdated piece in order to give it new life.  Often time, it is most cost-effective to use what you already have, and repurpose it in some way to achieve the function and look one desires.
